About Yellowstone

Established (as NP) March 1872 (first National Park)
Size – 2.2M acres
Where is Yellowstone: Most of the park is in the northwest corner of Wyoming. Most travellers stay in West Yellowstone, but we prefer to stay inside the park to avoid long entry lines.
Recommendations
Don’t miss: There’s so much to see here. Of course, you’ve got the geysers, waterfalls, canyons, and wildlife. If you visit Grand Prismatic, hike up above it for the best view. But our favorite is the wildlife. For that, head to Lamar Valley.
When to visit: Fall/Spring is best if you want to minimize crowds. Summer is crowded, but everything’s open. Winter is otherworldly if you can manage and find an appropriate tour.
How long to stay: It depends on how much of the park you want to see. I’d aim for at least 4 days.

The park turns to a pristine, snow covered landscape. The bison go into survival mode and provide amaging portraits. And their pursuit of a fox looking to capture a subsurface meal finally pays off.
